Can you describe your role within your organization?

GUHEM is Europe's largest space and aviation-themed science center. Our center boasts an impressive 13,500 m2 of closed area, equipped with a wide range of interactive exhibits. Daily, we welcome over 1000 visitors, primarily consisting of reserved school groups eager to explore the wonders of space and aviation.

My primary focus is to lead a dedicated team whose mission is to ignite inspiration and motivation among our visitors, particularly the young minds who are fascinated by the universe. At GUHEM, we work diligently six days a week, except for Mondays, to ensure a seamless and enriching experience for every individual who walks through our doors.

Within our center, children aged 3-6 years can delight in our specially designed kids' gallery, while other groups can explore the facility together. My responsibility revolves around ensuring the smooth operation of GUHEM. I take immense pride in witnessing happy expressions of children as they leave our building.

How did you end up in space with your study/work background?

In my journey, I have been driven by a strong curiosity towards various disciplines. Science, in all its forms, has captivated me - be it Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Philosophy, Management, Engineering, and more. The abundance of choices made it challenging to select a singular path. However, a moment of relief arrived when I discovered the field of astronomy, which harmoniously integrates multiple disciplines.

Following my undergraduate degree, my passion led me to the International Space University, where I pursued a master's degree in Space Management. While technical and scientific knowledge remained essential, I chose to jump into the management aspect of the space industry.

My dedication to the realm of space did not stop there. Currently, I am in the thesis phase of my Ph.D. journey, focusing on Space Technologies. I can proudly say that I have become a true space geek eager to contribute to the advancements in space exploration.

What ambitions do you have for your space career?

Throughout my career, I encountered numerous challenges that sometimes discouraged me from pursuing a path in the space industry. At times, there were limited space projects, a lack of demand for non-technical roles, and even nationality barriers in space projects. Despite these hurdles, I explored opportunities in diverse sectors such as automotive, electronics, and education, but my heart always asks me to return to the space sector.

Finally, after much perseverance and dedication, I received an opportunity to work on a satellite project. This marked a pivotal moment in my life, allowing me to re-enter the world of space and reignite my passion for the cosmos. I embraced the opportunity to expand my knowledge and network within the field.

In my current position, I am glad to have found the perfect combination of my two greatest ambitions: space and education. This alignment has granted me the privilege of merging my passion for space with my desire to inspire and educate others about the wonders of the universe.
