Can you describe your role within your organization?
As part of my apprenticeship, I handle the syndicate's communication with our thirteen members (Aerospacelab, Anywaves, Cailabs, Constellr, Exotrail, Exolaunch, Isar Aersopace, Latitude, Pangea Aerospace, Satlantis, ReOrbit, Unseenlabs and U-Space) as well as our institutional partners.
I create content on social media and our website that highlights our members' achievements, share updates on the syndicate's latest projects (such as the YEESS Observatory Report), and assist in proofreading position papers.
I also coordinate actions between our stakeholders and support in the organization of international events, such as conferences, expos, our annual event and general assembly.
To the best of my knowledge, YEESS is the only syndicate dedicated to young space companies. Given our close collaboration with institutions, I need to stay informed about the latest space-related policies, technological advancements, and potential speaking opportunities for our President and Vice President.
How did you end up in space with your study/work background?
I live in Toulouse, a dynamic city and a hub for the European space industry. Prior to working in the space sector I gained experience working in international companies (manufacturing, cosmetics, sports and tech), where I developed my cross-cultural communication, digital communication and foreign language skills.
I wanted to leverage these abilities to contribute to the space industry, which is why I applied last year for an apprenticeship in communication at YEESS.
Before starting my apprenticeship, I completed courses on Access to New Space and Space Law to build a solid foundation of knowledge on the challenges and opportunities faced by emerging space companies.
There's still so much to learn, but I've been enjoying every step of the journey.
How does your specific non-tech discipline or expertise add value to your organization?
It's incredibly rewarding to make space-related topics more accessible and engaging for everyone, while also adapting the messages for the different stakeholders the syndicate works with.
The syndicate operates at a European level, which means I have the opportunity to communicate with syndicate members, partners, and event attendees in different languages. This facilitates conversations and ensures the syndicate's messaging is tailored to each audience.
