How did you end up in space with your study/work background?

It’s been about 10 years ago when I took International Law as part of my MA program and read one chapter on International Space Law. It was love at first sight and I knew in that moment that International Space Law will be a huge part of my life. I still have the book, it’s sitting on a visible place in my home as a reminder how it all started.

How did you get in contact with the field of space and your discipline?

I had no idea how or where to start. When I said I want to do space law&policy a lot of people looked at me like I’m crazy and I’m making it up. I was led to believe space is just for scientists and engineers, and I’m from a country with no space agency. But, if you want something bad enough, you find a way. I found mine by completing an internship at UNOOSA. In fact, I moved and left my job and everything for this internship and it was without a doubt one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

What advice would you give fellow non-tech space enthusiasts if they want to pursue a job in space?

My advice is very simple: don’t let people tell you no. You are not too ambitious, you are not too old or too young, you are not dreaming and there is definitely a place for everyone in space. Chin up, head high and keep going, don’t listen to all the nos.
