Can you describe what you do?

On behalf of EJR-Quartz I provide comprehensive support to the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the European Space Agency (ESA) in both English and German language communications. My role encompasses various tasks, including crafting and refining articles, as well as managing cross-media responsibilities such as scripting videos and curating social media content. My portfolio covers a wide range of topics, spanning from rocket launches and astronaut missions to cutting-edge technology advancements like the lunar Gateway, and the captivating realm of space exploration missions such as Artemis I, Mars Express, and many other fascinating projects.

What is the most fun in your job?

Sharing the incredible world of space science and technology with everyone. It's truly fulfilling to spread the excitement that exists in the community. Space exploration has a huge impact on our daily lives, from the technology we use, like the internet and ATMs, to breakthroughs in medicine and even fitness equipment. Moreover, the quest to understand the origins of our universe is an awe-inspiring endeavour, and I'm honoured to be a part of it.

What advice would you give fellow non-tech space enthusiasts if they want to pursue a job in space?

There is space for you - pun intended! ;-) If you look closely, you'll discover countless opportunities to contribute to the space sector. I once believed, as a non-scientist and non-engineer, that this realm was beyond my reach, but I was delightfully mistaken. Your talents and skills are highly valued, and the space industry welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds.
